Augustenborg Palace
About Augustenborg Palace
Augustenborg Palace is a Rococo-style palace inside the southwestern a part of Augustenborg, Als Island, Denmark, overlooking Augustenborg Fjord. The palace owes its name to Duchess Auguste 1633 to 1701. Augustenborg gave its call to the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, the closing member of which was Duke Christian August II 1798 to 1869.
The authentic half of-timbered manor house became built in 1660 to 64 by way of Ernest Günther, the primary Duke of Augustenborg, after he offered the village of Stavensbøl and demolished it for the land. The one-storey, crimson-roofed buildings around the outer courtyard had been brought from 1733 at the same time as the primary three-winged building, changing the unique manor, was built from 1770 to 1776 in full symmetry, a excellent instance of Baroque architecture. The original half of-timbered manor residence turned into built in 1660-four with the aid of Ernest Gunther, the first Duke of Augustenborg, after he offered the village of Stavensbøl and demolished it for the land. The one-storey, crimson-roofed homes around the outer courtyard have been added from 1733 whilst the main 3-winged constructing, replacing the original manor, was constructed from 1770 to 1776 in complete symmetry, a first-rate example of Baroque structure.
