About Little Mermaid

The most celebrated mermaid statue of all, with ious duplicates far and wide, is the statue of The Little Mermaid from Hans Christian Andersen's children's story, sitting on a stone at Langelinie in the harbor of Copenhagen, Denmark. The figure is made of bronze and stone and was motivated by Hans Christian Andersen's children's story about a mermaid who surrenders everything to be joined with a youthful, nice looking sovereign ashore.

The statue had its 100-year commemoration on August 23, 2013, with festivities in Copenhagen and around the globe. While the story by Hans Christian Andersen was all that could possibly be needed to make this mermaid statue known the world over, the Disney films have just added to the distinction and the interest of this statue.
