About Old Gaol
The 1851 Old Gaol was developed as an employing station for ticket-of-leave convicts. Most were in private work by 1855, so it was shut until 1872, when it revived as a common gaol, and nowadays it's a people exhibition hall and now that is completely restored the gaol is a complex of men cell pieces and a few jailers quarters, worked in 1852 for Imperial convicts transported to WA as craftsmans and talented labourers.Albany Convict Gaol otherwise called the Old Gaol is a reestablished gaol that works as a historical center in Albany, Western Australia.
