Earl of Spencer

Earl of Spencer is an Historic Inn which is one of the oldest and famous taverns in Western Australia. There has been a building on the site since 1865. Richard Nesbitt was established ‘The Spencer Inn’ as a boarding house and Inn in 1874,a beer and wine licence was granted in 1884. In 1925 the Inn was delicensed and turned it into a shop.

The Nesbitt family owned it until about 1978.The Inn was renovated to its original charm as ‘The Earl of Spencer Historic Inn’ in 1988. Spencer is hosted ‘The Earl and Elise Black and is Albany's premier tavern. Without dropping into ‘The Earl of Spencer Historic Inn then your visit would not be completed.
