The Yamashiro Historic District is situated on Sycamore Avenue in the Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California, United States. The manor that structures the locale's centerpiece was built from 1911 to 1914 by craftsmans and specialists from Japan for the German-American siblings Charles L. Bernheimer July 18, 1864 – July 1, 1944 and Adolph L. Bernheimer October 6, 1866 – March 18, 1944 to house their accumulation of Japanese craftsmanship and significant things.
The foundation was known as the Yamashiro Hollywood, however can likewise be known as the Bernheimer Villa and Oriental Gardens. As the estate was situated over a slope, it was known as a yamashiro, a Japanese word that for this situation signifies "mountain mansion".
