About Wentworth Coolidge Mansion
This mansion is clapboard house that was worked like a home of Governor Benning Wentworth of New Hampshire. It is situated on the water at 375 Little Harbor Road, around two miles southeast of the focal point of Portsmouth. It is one of only a handful couple of imperial governors' habitations to survive relatively unaltered.
The site is a New Hampshire state stop, proclaimed a National Historic Landmark in 1968.Today, the New Hampshire Bureau of Historic Sites deals with the site with the help of the Wentworth-Coolidge Commission, a gathering of volunteer urban and business pioneers named by the Governor.
