About Monument Rocks

The Monument Rocks are found 20 miles south of Oakley. They are otherwise called the Chalk Pyramids and are a characteristic development that served generally as a point of interest for pioneers and American Indians. An assortment of marine reptilian fossils is unmistakable. The chalk developments achieve a stature of up to 70 ft 21 m and incorporate arrangements, for example, buttes and curves. The carbonate stores were set down amid the Cretaceous Period in what was then the Western Interior Seaway, which split the mainland of North America into two landmasses.
