Fort Adams State Park

The Fort Adams Point at the passageway to the Newport Harbor, Fort Adams State Park is a famous stop best known for its yearly Newport Jazz Festival. It offers all encompassing perspectives of the Narragansett Bay and the sailboats in the harbor.

The recreation center offers swimming, picnicking, sailing, and other recreational exercises. It brags the Joseph "Jay" Kirwin Memorial Rugby Pitch and two other soccer fields/rugby pitches.

The recreation center is likewise home to Fort Adams, the second biggest fortification in the US, a key to Narragansett Bay resistances from 1799 to 1945. Other than the jazz celebration, the recreation center has the Newport Folk Festival and is the home of Eisenhower House, previous living arrangement of the Fort's leader and Sail Newport cruising association.
