Battleship USS Alabama

As Alabama slides down the ways today, she conveys with her an extraordinary name and an awesome custom. The Navy respects her as another ruler among her associates. Later on, as previously, may the name Alabama ever remain for battling soul and dedication to a reason. Alabama was appointed on 16 August 1942, with Captain George B. Wilson in command.

After fitting out, USS Alabama initiated her squeeze journey in Chesapeake Bay on 11 November 1942. As the year 1943 started, the new war vessel traveled north to lead operational preparing out of Casco Bay, Maine. She came back to Chesapeake Bay on 11 January to complete the most recent seven day stretch of squeeze preparing.
