West Kirby

West Kirby is a town on the north-west corner of the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside, England, at the mouth of the River Dee. Toward the north-east lies Hoylake, toward the east Grange and Newton, and toward the south-east Caldy. At the 2001 Census, the populace was 7,680. The town is on the contrary side of the River Dee to Mostyn in North Wales. The name West Kirby is of Viking starting point, initially Kirkjubyr, signifying 'town with a church'.

The frame with the modifier "West" exists to recognize it from the other town of a similar name in Wirral: Kirkby-in-Walea now the cutting edge town of Wallasey.
