St. Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray is an area church in the Church of England situated in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. By 2016, the congregation, portrayed as "one of the best area holy places in Leicestershire" had fallen into a poor condition of repair and was regarded "unfit for reason" prompting an interest for 2m to re-established it. St Mary's Church is the biggest and "stateliest" area church in Leicestershire,with unmistakable remains dating chiefly from the 13th – 15th hundreds of years. The stonework in the most reduced segment of the pinnacle, which has Norman windows, dates from 1170, despite the fact that there were unquestionably at least one Anglo-Saxon holy places on this site before the Norman one.
It is based on an arrangement more normal for basilicas and the 100-foot tower commands the town, and is an uncommon case of an area church with aisled transeptsa include generally found just in a house of prayer.
