About Sleaford
Sleaford is a market town and common ward in Lincolnshire, England. Since 1973, the ward limits have included Quarrington toward the south-west, Holdingham toward the north and Old Sleaford toward the east, adjacent settlements and previous common areas which, with New Sleaford, had framed a Urban District. The town is on the edge of the fruitful Fenlands, around 11 miles north-east of Grantham, 16 miles west of Boston, and 17 miles south of Lincoln.
With a populace of 17,671 at the 2011 Census, the town is the biggest settlement in the North Kesteven region. Circumvent by the A17 and the A15, it is associated with Lincoln, Newark, Peterborough and King's Lynn. Sleaford railroad station is on the Nottingham to Skegness by means of Grantham and Peterborough to Lincoln Lines. Sleaford was principally a farming town until the 20th century, supporting a cows showcase, with seed organizations, for example, Hubbard and Phillips, and Sharpes International Seeds, being built up in the late 19th century.
The landing of the railroad made the town ideal for malting. The Anglican area church, St Denys', fronts onto the commercial center; the most seasoned parts date to the late 12th century and the propose tower, worked around 1220, is one of the most established in England. Sleaford Spiritualist Church opened in around 1956 on Westgate.
