About Keswick Museum and Art Gallery

Keswick Museum is a museum in Keswick in the English Lake District which reopened in 2014 after large refurbishment of its motive-built 1898 constructing. Its ied collections function Keswick’s panorama, history and subculture. The Mountain Heritage Trust continues a changing exhibition in the museum, which in 2014 focused at the effect of World War I on the mountain climbing community. The museum and artwork gallery is owned by using Allerdale Borough Council and run via the largely volunteer Keswick Museum and Art Gallery Management Ltd. The museum turned into founded in 1873 and had some of transient homes as it grew, along with The Moot Hall in Keswick metropolis centre.

A building changed into cause built for it, in Fitz Park, partly as a memorial to the Hewetson brothers, outstanding Keswick benefactors, and to commemorate the jubilee of Queen Victoria.
