About Immingham
Immingham is a town, civil parish and ward in the North East Lincolnshire unitary specialist of England. It is arranged on the south-west bank of the Humber Estuary, and is 6 miles north west from Grimsby. The area was generally uninhabited and undeveloped until the mid 1900s, when the Great Central Railway started building up its Immingham Dock; as a result of the dock improvement, and of adjacent post-Second World War expansive scale mechanical advancements Immingham created from a minor place into a critical town amid the twentieth century. Immingham is made reference to as a house in the eleventh century Domesday Book.
Saint Andrew's congregation dates to the early medieval period, with a significant part of the structure dating to the 13th century, with parts of the nave as ahead of schedule as the eleventh or twelfth century. The pinnacle was developed in the sixteenth/seventeenth century, to a comparable plan to that found in adjacent Aylesby, Wootton and Healing. The structure was reestablished in the 1880s and 1920. An enlivened octagonal text style in the congregation dates to the fifteenth C. The remaining parts of a stone cross outside the congregation likewise dates to the medieval period. There is archeological proof of the medieval settlement. Earthwork remains showing a settlement and rural utilize exist close south of the congregation; earthwork remainders of a previous contracted town exist toward the north of the congregation.
