About Berrington Hall

Berrington Hall is a nation house situated around 3 miles 4.8 km north of Leominster, Herefordshire, England. Amid the 12th century it was the seat of the Cawley family. It is a neoclassical nation house building which was outlined by Henry Holland in 1778-81 for Thomas Harley. It has a to some degree stark outside, yet the insides are inconspicuous and sensitive. Berrington Hall is home to the Elmar Digby furniture gathering, artworks by, among others, Thomas Luny 1759– 1837 and the Charles Paget Wade ensemble accumulation from Snowshill which can be seen by arrangement. The 'beneath stairs' zones and hirelings' quarters which are available to general society incorporate a Victorian clothing and Georgian dairy.

Berrington has been being taken care of by the National Trust since 1957 and is, alongside its greenhouses, open to the general population. Berrington highlights Capability Brown's last scene plan. An eminent element is the divider which was subject of broad redesign in the late 12th century by nearby experts. Berrington Pool, a lake and island, is a site of Special Scientific Interest. Berrington had been in the ownership of the Cornewall family since 1386, yet was sold in 1775 to Thomas Harley, an investor and government temporary worker who had been Lord Mayor of London in 1767.
