Shevchenko Park

Focal Park of Culture and Recreation of Taras Shevchenko is a recreation center in Odessa. It is situated in the focal piece of Odessa city.

It conveys the name of Taras Shevchenko since 1954.After the success of Khadzhibey in 1795, certain fortresses existed close Cape Langeron.

Following the Russo-Turkish War in 1811, the fortification was rearranged into a port side isolate, and inside the post, an isolated graveyard was built up.

The recreation center was formally opened on 7 September 1875 and on 10 September was named the "Alexander Park" after Alexander II of Russia himself had gone to Odessa and planted an oak tree amid the recreation center's opening function.
