About Choral Synagogue

The Choral-Synagoge in Drohobych, Lviv Oblast in Ukraine, is the maximum extraordinary of the Jewish structures inside the town. It become built among 1842 and 1865. Up to 1918 it served because the Main Synagogue of Galicia inside the Austro-Hungarian Empire. After World War II Drohobych belonged to the Soviet Union. The government converted the constructing to a warehouse and adjusted it accordingly. In later years it deteriorated. After Ukraine gained its independence it changed into back to the Jewish network. Renovations began in 2014. They had been completed in 2016.

The style of the 3-storey constructing is a version of the then popular Round-arch style. The entry is framed by means of big pilasters, surmounted by using a decorated gable.
