About Burdur
Burdur is a city southwestern Turkey and the seat of the Burdur Province of Turkey. While there is proof of residence in the area going back to 6500 BC, the soonest indication of home in the city itself dates to Early Bronze Age. Ancient rarities from this period have been found in the site of the present railroad station. In ancient times, the region was a piece of the area of Pisidia. It has been suggested that the city of Burdur has changed area ious occasions; the antiquated city of Limnombria was nearer to Lake Burdur than the advanced city.
It is realized that in the Byzantine period, the city existed with the name Polydorion, from which the current name is inferred. No remaining parts of Polydorion get by right up 'til today. Burdur was caught by the Ottoman Empire in 1391, when Bayezid I vanquished the Hamidids. It was at first an area focus and a residential area under the Sanjak of Hamid. Starting at 1478, Burdur had four quarters, three being Muslim and one being Christian. The biggest of these was the Cami quarter of the Muslims.
