About Junibacken

Famous among locals junibacken is a childern's' fascination, established by Staffan Götestam, Fredrik Urström and Peder Wallenberg.

It is arranged on the island of Djurgården in the focal point of Stockholm, Sweden. It was formally opened by the Swedish Royal Family on June 8, 1996.

It is Stockholm's fifth most-went by vacation spot. It is given to Swedish kids' writing, however particularly Astrid Lindgren. Outside the building is a bronze statue of Lindgren.

The workmanship course and pictures for the inside plan were made by Swedish craftsman Marit Törnqvist, who had already made representations for later forms of Lindgren's books.

Junibacken contains the biggest youngsters' bookshop in Sweden. The lockers in the passageway corridor are bizarre in that each is like a mammoth book-spine, including world works of art, for example, Treasure Island and The Jungle Book. Other principle attractions incorporate a Storybook Square.
