1. Civil Aviation Ministry Announced New Ticket Cancellation Norms
Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced new norms for the cancellation of tickets. The officials of ministry also cleared that this decision is taken due to the increasing issues of ticket cancellation, baggage and denied boarding at airports. Thus, this decision of ministry will definitely be a relief to the airlines and will help in managing their loss. Recently, the airlines were experiencing a heavy loss if there was a delay in the flight. They had to pay about Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 4,000 to passengers that further depended on the reason and time of delay. The official also said that these new norms would soon be made public.
The move was also taken after several petitions were received from the airlines raising these issues. Recently almost every airline has raised their ticket cancellation charges. Thus, Directorate General of Civil Aviation has decided to regulate all such issues and provide a feasible way that benefits both airlines and passengers. Thence, the ministry is considering framing some decent norms that will also consider the passengers and the difficulties that they face. It is also noted that the passengers faced various problems due to the cancellation and delay of flights in April.
