Indigo Increased Domestic Ticket Cancellation Charges To Rs 2250

IndiGo travelers will be somewhat disappointed to known that this airline has doubled its ticket cancellation charges for domestic travel. From April 1, 2016, passengers who cancel or make any change to the ticket with IndiGo will have to pay Rs. 2,250. Before this, the airline was charging only Rs. 1,250 for the cancellation of tickets on domestic flights within a month; however when changes are made only few days to go for flight, then the charges were Rs. 2250. Thus, after this decision, passengers have to pay the full amount despite of the time when the tickets are cancelled. There is no change in the international flights when tickets are cancelled, it will remain to be Rs. 2,500.

After this rule, tickets cancellation charges become more expensive that the ticket itself in most of the domestic routes. This is the best move by this airline to discourage any move of cancellation or change in the domestic travel by passenger. This will definitely help airlines to plan their trip more effectively and provide best services to passengers. Further, the heavy cancellation charges charged by the airlines is under consideration of Civil Aviation Regulator DGCA and further increase in cancelation charges will be objected.
