In this festive season, inbound tourism has increased by 10 percent during Christmas. The other reason is New Year celebration and various terror attacks in major cities of overseas countries. The major tourist spots in central, northern India have gained high attention and have become hotspots for visitors from various parts of India. In total, about 15 Lakh tourists are expected this New Year, which includes domestic and foreign visitors, as India, is safe and cheap for everyone. Tourism in states like Kerala, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Andaman and Nicobar, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir is the reason of their strong economy and forms major portion of the income of state.
ASSOCHAM has conducted a survey in which they figured out the best tourist spots for young professionals in India and in foreign countries. Most of them stated that in this season, their preferred tourist spot are states of India and they love to stay within country keeping in view the terror attacks in overseas. This has also provided Indians to earn foreign currency this New Year. Thus, most of the states in India have experienced decent percent increase in tourism this year.
