The peak season to visit Gaya is the winter season that ranges from November to February. The city is flocked with visitors coming from all across the globe. Though the weather is cold, but it is good to enjoy the sightseeing across the place. However, the visitors visit the place during Buddha Jayanti celebrations which falls during the summer season.
1. Climate in Gaya
Known for its extreme climate or sub-tropical climate, Gaya experiences three seasons in full glory. It is surrounded by river one side and hills on three sides and thus experiences winters that are too cold and summers that are too hot.
Summer
The summers commence from March and last till June. The temperature can soar up to 47 degrees C while the average minimum temperature is around 27 degree C.
Monsoon
Plenty of rain is experienced during the monsoon season which starts around June and lasts till September. Weather remains pleasant and the city receives around 100 cm of rainfall.
Winter
Winters stay from December till February and are very cool. The temperatures range from 9 degrees C to 26 degrees C.
