No doubt, millions of animal species breathe on earth – scientists have still not found the exact number. But it is sure that this world has lots of bizarre biodiversities. When it comes to wildlife, we probably think of tigers, crocodiles, leopard, elephants, bear etc. and other basic names. You may be shocked to know about some of the bizarre and weirdest creatures on earth we are going to talk about.
1. Dumbo Octopus
These octopuses belong to Genus Grimpoteuthis family. Their fins resemble the ears of flying elephant featured in Walt Disney’s character. They live in extreme depths. These benthic creatures are some of the rarest in Octopus family. Their specialty is that they can remove the see-through layer of skin whenever they need.

2. Frill-necked Lizard
The “Frilled Dragon” itself, frilled-necked lizard has a large skin ruff that is folded over its neck and head. When it opens the mouth, this lizard shows a vivid yellow or pink lining and red and bright orange scales. On the ground, they walk on four legs. They accelerate and run on all of their legs when scared. They scare off their enemies with their frill.
3. Japanese Spider Crab
This spider crab can give any arachnophobia patient a heart attack. These creatures have very long legs and they can extend their legs up to 12 ft. They are known to be friendly and passive. So, don’t scare off with their weird, giant look.
4. Angora rabbit
It is known for soft and long hair. These rabbits were very well-known pets in the mid of 1700s in French royalty. Eventually, they spread their presence in other European countries. People breed them basically for their long wool that is plucked and sheared later.
5. Tasmanian tiger
It was the famous carnivorous marsupial creature of 20th century and was native to New Guinea and Australia. Because of its striped back, it is called as Tasmanian wolf or Tasmanian tiger. It is considered to be the last member of Thylacinus genus.

6. Coelacanth
The close relatives of tetrapods and lungfishes, the coelacanths were known to have extinct till the end of Cretaceous era. Since 1938, they have been again found in Tanzania, Kenya, Comoros, Madagascar, Mozambique, and other regions. They are the lobe-finned fish which has anal fins and pectoral fins.
7. Yeti Crab
These 6” long decapods are known for their glossy blond setae which look like fur, and cover their claws and legs. It is also known as yeti lobster. It has small eyes with low pigment and it is known to be blind. It usually eats small shrimps and green algae.
8. Leafy Sea-dragon
Its name seems to be inspired from the Chinese mythological dragons. It looks like drifting seaweed because they float under the seawater filled with seaweed. It has orange, green and golden hues on the body. It remains mostly camouflaged because it is hidden with leaf-like appendages. You can identify this creature just with its swiveling eye or the tiny fins fluttering along.
9. Anglerfish
It stays mostly in the aphetic zones under the ocean where water is too deep to penetrate for the sun. They are just a few inches long and most of them resemble parasites.
10. Ice fish
It lives in Antarctic oceans and they are adapted to live in cold water. Their bodies have a type of anti-freeze substance to regulate body temperature. They don’t have blood to flow along the veins.
