About Valencia Cathedral

The historical Metropolitan Cathedral is famous for its history among locals– Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady of Valencia, then again known as Saint Mary's Cathedral or Valencia Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic ward church in Valencia, Spain.

It was the authority ecclesiastical goblet for some popes, and has been utilized by numerous others, most as of late by Pope Benedict XVI, on July 9, 2006.

This goblet with Arabic engravings dates from the first century, and was given to the house of prayer by King Alfonso V of Aragon in 1436.

Valencia Cathedral was of incredible significance for Iberian hallowed music and had numerous eminent arrangers as mestre de capella.

The musicologist Josep Climent Barber ca b. 1927 has led impressive research into the music of Valencia Cathedral.
