About The Puente Nuevo

The Puente Nuevo is the most current and biggest of three extensions that range the 120-meter 390 ft profound abyss that conveys the Guadalevin River and partitions the city of Ronda, in southern Spain. The modeler was Jose Martin de Aldehuela, who kicked the bucket in Málaga in 1802. The main developer was Juan Antonio Díaz Machuca. The development of the most up to date bridge the one that stands today was begun in 1759 and took 34 years to construct. There is a chamber over the focal curve that was utilized for an assortment of purposes, including as a jail.

Amid the 1936-1939 common war the two sides supposedly utilized the jail as a dungeon for caught rivals, slaughtering some by tossing them from the windows to the stones at the base of the El Tajo glut. The chamber is entered through a square building that was before the protect house. It currently contains a display depicting the scaffold's history and construction. Construction of the past extension began in 1735, this was the main endeavor to traverse the chasm at this tallness and was finished by the draftsmen Jose Garcia and Juan Camacho utilizing a solitary curve structure. Lamentably, this extension was rapidly and ineffectively constructed and in 1741 the whole scaffold fallen bringing about the demise of 50 individuals.
