About Museum of Contemporary Art

It is a craftsmanship gallery in Vigo, Spain.

It shows changing displays of contemporary craftsmanship, however has no lasting gathering.

The building, which should be a basic correctional facility however in the long run turned into a courthouse with courts, penitentiaries and a little safe house for the watchmen, was finished in 1880.

After a century, the city chamber thought about pulverizing the working to make a verdant square in its place, however after a solid dismissal of this new task by the draftsman Alo Siza Vieira and Javier Sainz de Oinza and the History Professor from Madrid High School, Pedro Navascués Palacio, this thought was surrendered.

Another social task with the target of restoring the building and changing it into a contemporary craftsmanship exhibition hall was affirmed.

The work was authorized to a group of modelers shaped by Salvador Fraga Rivas, Francisco Javier García-Quijada Romero y Manuel Portoles Sanjuan.

A long time later, after renovation expenses of 2 million Euros, the exhibition hall was opened in 2002 under the name of "MARCO".
