Las Salinas Espartinas

Las Salinas Espartinas is an archaeological website online of the Spanish municipality of Ciempozuelos. It has the repute of an amazing of cultural interest. The Salinas Espartinas are positioned to the south of the municipality of Ciempozuelos, on the foot of the gypsum escarpments at the right bank of the Jarama, within the valley of Valdelachica that runs in a west-east direction, along about 2 kilometers, counted from its head at the extent of 605 meters to 495 meters from its lowest factor, in which it opens to the fertile undeniable of Jarama.

The Valdelachica ravine constitutes an axis that structures a set of archaeological sites associated, for the maximum part, to the exploitation of salt and that display a unique depth, each at the headwaters and at the exit of the ravine. In 2006, 15 archaeological sites were acknowledged inside the proposed vicinity. In the west cease there are two deposits called "Altos de Gallegos" that flank the slopes of the ravine on the point in which the old path of the Casa de Postas is crossed with the pastoral direction referred to as nowadays "Camino de los Corrales de Palomero". Another site is placed, called "Las Salinas", also in height, on the left side of the center route of the valley, providing a function of visible domain of the environment.
