Kirsanov

Kirsanov is a town in Tambov Oblast, Russia, situated on the Vorona River at its conjunction with the Pursovka River 95 kilometers east of Tambov. It was established in the main portion of the 17^th century as a settlement of Kirsanovo, named after Kirsan Zubakin, the principal pioneer in the territory. It was allowed town status in 1779. In 1875, a railroad was worked through Kirsanov, which associated Tambov and Saratov.

Inside the system of authoritative divisions, Kirsanov fills in as the regulatory focus of Kirsanovsky District, despite the fact that it's anything but a piece of it. As a managerial division, it is joined independently as the town of oblast essentialness of Kirsanov, an authoritative unit with the status equivalent to that of the areas.
