POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews

POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is a museum on the site of the former Warsaw Ghetto. The Hebrew word Polin in the gallery's English name implies either "Poland" or "rest here" and identifies with a legend about the landing of the main Jews to Poland. The historical center's foundation was laid in 2007, and the exhibition hall opened on 19 April 2013. The center presentation opened in October 2014 and highlights a sight and sound display about the Jewish people group that thrived in Poland for a thousand years up to the World War II Holocaust. The building, a postmodern structure in glass, copper, and cement, was planned by Finnish designers Rainer Mahlamaki and Ilmari Lahdelma.

The thought for making a noteworthy new gallery in Warsaw devoted to the historical backdrop of Polish Jews was started in 1995 by the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland. Around the same time, the Warsaw City Council apportioned the land for this reason in Muranow, Warsaw's prewar Jewish quarter and site of the previous Warsaw Ghetto, confronting the Monument to the Warsaw Ghetto Heroes. Tourists come here from all over the world with their family members and friends.
