About Ubudiah Mosque

The Ubudiah Mosque Malay: Masjid Ubudiah is a mosque situated in the illustrious town of Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia. Masjid Ubudiah - positioning high on the rundown of Malaysia's most excellent mosques, the Masjid Ubudiah or Ubudiah Mosque stands gladly and gloriously in Kuala Kangsar, with its brilliant arch and minarets making an enchanting sight, from close and a remote place. The mosque was outlined by Arthur Benison Hubback, an administration designer who is prominently credited for the plan of the Ipoh railroad station and the Kuala Lumpur rail route station.

Worked in 1913 amid the rule of the 28th Sultan of Perak, Sultan Idris Murshidul Adzam Shah I Ibni Almarhum Raja Bendahara Alang Iskandar Teja, the Masjid Ubudiah is situated adjacent to the Royal Mausoleum on Bukit Chandan. It was dispatched on the requests of the Sultan, who promised that he would construct a mosque of awesome excellence as thanksgiving for recuperation from a disease which tormented him in those early days. The development of the mosque was not without challenges.

Work was interfered with a few times, once when two elephants having a place with the sultan's and Raja Chulan were battling and kept running over and harmed the foreign made Italian marble titles. The mosque was at long last finished in late 1917 at an aggregate expense of RM200,000 - a significant galactic figure for those days. It was formally pronounced open by Sultan Abdul Jalil Karamtullah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Idris Murshidul Adzam Shah I Rahmatullah, successor to Sultan Idris. This overwhelming structure is presently an image of extraordinary pride to all Muslims in the province of Perak.
