About Shikoku Henro

The 88 asylums are among the essential social properties to be enlisted by the Agency for Cultural Affairs on its Japan Heritage list in 2015.Sixteen of the 88 havens – from the 24th to 39th - are arranged in Kochi.Kobo Daishi, a Buddhist minister generally called Kukai, is said to have gone on Shikoku Island and set up 88 asylums more than 1,200 years earlier.
