Treviolo

Treviolo is a comune inside the Province of Bergamo inside the Italian area of Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres northeast of Milan and about 7 kilometres southwest of Bergamo. As of one January 2011, it had a population of 10,363 and a place of 8.7 rectangular kilometres. The municipality of Treviolo includes the frazioni Curnasco, Albegno, and Roncola: Curnasco is the most populated. Treviolo borders the subsequent municipalities: Bergamo, Bonate Sopra, Bonate Sotto, Curno, Dalmine, Lallio.

The first human settlements within the vicinity were possibly the Ligurian tribes, as evidenced by way of the name "Curnasco", in which the suffix "asco" is a function feature of these populations. In the Roman duration, the residential nucleus developed drastically; given the proximity to Bergamo, it's far assumed that the ones settlements were military outposts for the city. At the stop of Roman domination, it is notion that Treviolo, Albegno and Curnasco went via a phase of depopulation, which ended with the arrival of the Lombards, who installed Curnasco, referred to in documents of the year 774.
