Piazza Matteotti

Piazza Matteotti is located next to Piazza De Ferrari and situated at the edge of the historic center and a few tens of meters away from the Cathedral of San Lorenzo. On it overlook the Palazzo Ducale, the church of the Gesù and the palace of the archbishopric.

It is one of the main squares of Genoa. It is located on the quay of the quay at the edge of the historic city center. The square has a T-shape, whose north side is surrounded by the side wings of the Palazzo Ducale, whose main entrance opens onto the square.

To the northwest, next to the archiepiscopal Curia building, start via San Lorenzo that leads to the cathedral of the same name, while to the southeast, via di Porta Soprana, flanks the church of the Gesù and allows access to the ancient gateway to the city walls.
