About House of the Vettii

The House of the Vettii is a domus situated in the Roman town, Pompeii, which was safeguarded by the ejection of Vesuvius in 79 AD. The house is named for its proprietors, two fruitful freedmen: Aulus Vettius Conviva, an Augustalis, and Aulus Vettius Restitutus. Its cautious excavationhas saved the majority of the divider frescos, which were finished after the tremor of 62 AD, in the way workmanship antiquarians term the Pompeiian Fourth Style.

The House of Vetti is situated in locale VI, close to the Vesuvian Gate, flanked by the Vicolo di Mercurio and the Vicolo dei Vettii. The house is one of the biggest domus in Pompeii, spreading over the whole southern segment of square 15.The arrangement is molded in a normal Roman domus except for a tablinum, which is excluded. There are twelve fanciful scenes crosswise over four triclinium and one cubiculum.
