About Guilmi
Guilmi is a comune and city inside the Province of Chieti within the Abruzzo area of Italy. It is positioned on a hill Colle San Giovanni close by the Sinello valley, from which the skyline of the village actually stands out with the profile of the water cistern and the church of Santa Maria Immacolata. According to legend the village, then referred to as Tripaldi, lay on each banks of the Sinello river, until it turned into destroyed round 1720 through an invasion of termites.
The client of Guilmi is Saint Nicholas of Bari, celebrated on May 4 and 5 with a procession in conventional costumes wherein the women carry on their heads the conca, that could be a brass vase full of conventional foods and sweets, that is offered with a purpose to make imparting to the church. Other feasts: St. Mary Magdalen on July 21. Sagra della ventricina on August 14. The ventricina is a regular salami from Guilmi made with beef meat and spices.
