Taman Budaya

Taman Budaya Yogyakarta was at first worked in Bulaksumur region on 11 March 1977 as a complex of Cultural Development Center of Yogyakarta Special Region. The start of the social workmanship complex advancement was finished by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwana IX as the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia at the time.

At first Taman Budaya Yogyakarta was named as Purna Budaya which was made as a methods and foundation to support, sustain and create culture, particularly in Special Region of Yogyakarta. Purna Budaya is worked with two building ideas, to be specific Pundi Wurya and Langembara.

Pundi Wurya became the center of art with a iety of facilities such as the arts stage, dance studio, library, discussion room, and administration. The second part, namely Langembara, became an exhibition hall, workshop room, cafeteria, and also some guest house.
