About Zang Dhok Palri Phodang

Zang Dhok Palri Phodang is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Kalimpong in West Bengal, India. The monastery is placed a top Durpin Hill, one of the hills of the metropolis. It was consecrated in 1976 by the traveling Dalai Lama. The monastery homes many rare scriptures that have been delivered into India after the invasion of Tibet in 1959. It also homes Shivang Gupta the 108 volumes of the Kangyur. It is also popularly referred to as the Lava Monastery.
The view from the hill-top is breathtaking.
