About Wellington Lodge

Over 200 years of age , the Wellington Lodge situated by the KSRTC Bus stand is one of the most punctual pioneer structures worked in Mysore. There is a plaque introduced on the front lobby of the main floor which says this manor was utilized as the habitation of Arthur Wellesley from 1799 to 1801. The building looks fairly plain as though it was made as a manufacturing plant or storage facility, albite a major one. The first intention is unknown. The lobbies of the ground floor can be gotten to through a patio in the front. A couple of stairways anticipating outside on the eastern side of the building offers access to the main floor. The notable foundation of the period tosses some light on the expectation of its development. The fag end of the year 1799 saw the fall of Tippu Sultan and reclamation of the power back to the Wodeyars of Mysore.
