About TARKESHWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE

At a separation of 37 km from Lansdowne and 69 km from Kotdwar, Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is an old sanctuary arranged in the Pauri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Situated on a slope at a rise of 2092 m, Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is accepted to be one of the old blessed locales known as Siddha Piths committed to Lord Shiva. It is one of the popular sanctuaries of Uttarakhand state. As indicated by the legend, Tarkasur was an evil presence who thought and worshiped Lord Shiva at this area for a shelter. You have to walk on almost 1.5 KM hilly road to reach the temple from parking area, so in case you have problem in long distance hilly way walking then , you should not start for the temple.
