About Swamithope Pathi

Swamithoppe Pathi is the essential pathi of the Ayyavazhi, the leader of all Worship focuses of Ayyavazhi, and the holy setting of the Tavam. Religiously Swamithope is viewed as essential among the Pancha pathi and the essential focal point of the incarnational exercises of Vaikundar. As indicated by Ayyavazhi legends, Ayya Vaikundar, an incarnation of Lord Narayana, did his tavam at Poovantanthoppe, pulling in numerous supporters from crosswise over India. On his pass-away Ayya Vaikundar was accepted to be entombed there, and the square-formed 'pathi' was developed encompassing him. The sacred book Akilathirattu ammanai of Ayyavazhi alludes to the sanctuary as "Thoppuppathi".
