St. Francis Xavier Church, ordinarily alluded to as Bejai Church, is a memorable Roman Catholic Church arranged in the Bejai region of Mangalore. The congregation was worked in 1869 on a plot of land estimating 5.37 sections of land at Bejai, which was acquired from the British government on 21 November 1869. The first structure was a house of prayer from which Sunday masses were advertised. The territory of Bejai was secured by the Cathedral ward for around two centuries. The development of the church in Bejai was composed to lessen the bother to Mangalorean Catholic inhabitants of that territory, who generally would need to make a trip a huge separation to go to Mass. Sunday masses were offered by clerics from the house of prayer.
