Annapoorneshwari Temple (100 kms from Udupi)- Annaporneshwari Temple , Horanadu is a pilgrimage destination in its own and visited alongwith Sringeri as a day excursion ex-Udupi.Sringeri Mutt (110 kms from Udupi) - was built by Sri Adi Shankaracharya in the 9th century A.D on the banks of Tungabhadra. There are 12 zodiac pillars here in this shrine, which are so constructed that the rays of the sun fall on the pillar corresponding to the month.
