About Soraba
Soraba is a panchayat town in Shimoga area in the territory of Karnataka in India. The town gets its name from its prior name Surabhipura meaning town of Surabhi. Surabhi was the sacred dairy animals which were drained by a stone statue of the god Sri Ranganatha. A sanctuary is based on a similar place where the blessed dairy animals used to drain and it is currently the Sri Ranganatha sanctuary. The story says that the sanctuary was worked by a nearby proprietor from Halesoraba on the inlet of waterway Dandavati. This is recorded on a composition written in Old Kannada content on the stone pinnacle by the stream Dandavati.
Soraba is currently a taluk central station. Soraba's fundamental street Ratha beedhi is the main street which extends for around a kilo meter and has its principle shops and healing centers.
