About Shuka Vana

Over 2000 birds, the Shuka Vana in Mysore is a need to go to for ornithophiles and nature fans. With over 450 numerous species, this hanging 50m excessive aviary spanning an area of one acre presently holds the record for maximum chicken species in an aviary inside the Guinness Book of World Records. This unique park, normally known as Parrot Park, is part of the Avadhoota Datta Peetham in the Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda.

Ashram, and additionally serves as a rehabilitation centre for abused, injured and deserted birds. One can find many rare species of parrots flying round this beautiful enclosure. The revered seer of the ashram, Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Swami believes that birds are critical to the existence of other species, and their diminishing numbers in recent years have been a cause for alarm and a call to movement.
