The temple of Shri Kamakshi is set in the midst of slopes in the pleasant town of Shiroda of Ponda Taluka and was worked in the late sixteenth century. This temple is committed to Goddess Kamakshi an incarnation of Goddess Parvati partner of Lord Shiva. The temple faces east and has a vast Sabha Mandap. The temple has a tall Deepasthambha and a sacred water tank. Inside the sanctuary, there is a square molded chowk and the Sanctum Sanctorum with the divinity Shri Kamakshi in all wonderful qualities.
A Palakhi parade of Goddess Kamakshi is hung on each Shukla Panchami. The yearly celebrations are held at the temple amid the Dussehra period and at the season of Jatra in spring. The Divja parade held amid the Jatra wherein innumerable wedded ladies stroll around the temple at night holding Divja or mud lights offers a tremendous site.
