About Murudeshwar Temple

Located in Murudeshwar, Karnataka is the magnificent shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is world famous for housing the second highest statue of Lord Shiva in the world. The magnificence of the statue is what will fill you with awe.

The temple is built on the Kanduka Hill and is surrounded by Arabian Sea on three sides. The main entrance of the temple called gopura is as high as 123 feet. One can witness the majesty of the statue from the top of the gopura.

The temple is covered with intricate carvings and has a modernized sanctum sanctorum. The main deity of the temple is Sri Mridesa Linga.
