Sailana

Sailana is a town and a nagar panchayat in Ratlam district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated in the Malwa locale of Madhya Pradesh. Sailana is 25 km from Ratlam town and 50 km far from Banswara area of the neighboring province of Rajasthan. Sailana was at one time the capital of the Sailana State before it converged into India. A stronghold having a place with the previous regal family still stands in Sailana. The Kedareshwar sanctuary, arranged 4 km from Sailana is a remarkable hallowed place.

Sailana State was established by Raja Jai Singh, awesome grandson of Maharaja Ratan Singh, organizer of Ratlam State. In 1716 Jai singh delivered retribution against his uncle for the murder of his dad, he executed him in a pitched fight at sagode and anchored Ratlam for his senior sibling. The two siblings at that point separated the state between themselves. Jai singh's capital was at first at Raoti. He fabricated Sailana city as his new capital in 1736. He battled 22 fights in his lifetime, transforming Sailana into an autonomous state.

Amid Raja Mokham Singh's run, Sailana endured in war against the Scindias of Gwalior, the vast majority of the states eastern and southern terrains were attached. Raja Lakshman Singh of Sailana attempted to drive the Scindia's out of his kingdom, in 1818 he declined to pay chauth which was routinely required, the Scindias countered by sending an armed force under Bujang Rao, the Gwalior armed force which had european arms and was French prepared lost its favorable position on the slopes on the way to Sailana and was crushed by Lakshman Singh, the caught fighters were permitted to leave yet the majority of their weapons and big guns were taken.
