Piravom

Piravom is a region in Ernakulam locale and a suburb of Kochi in the territory of Kerala, India. It is arranged around 30 km South East of the Kochi downtown area and around 40 km north of Kottayam. Piravom is acclaimed for noteworthy Hindu sanctuaries and Syrian Christian temples. The town lies 20 km from Muvattupuzha. Piravom is situated at the limit between two locale, Ernakulam and Kottayam. Pazhoor Padippura situated in Piravom is alluded in the Aithihyamala by Kottarathil Sankunni.

Piravom Valiya Pally which is a standout amongst the most old temples in Kerala remains on a peak on the eastern bank of the Muvattupuzha stream at Piravom. Piravom has a waterway front, verdant slopes, and paddy fields. The town is arranged on the banks of the Muvattupuzha waterway. The Hindustan News Print Limited HNL is arranged in Velloor, close Piravom. The panchayat had been a district for a short time of around two years previously it was returned to an extraordinary review panchayat in 1992.

The Kerala government lifted Piravom panchayat into a district again in 2015. The state government and the GCDA have plans to incorporate Angamaly, Perumbavoor, Piravom and Kolenchery in Ernakulam region; Mala and Kodungallur in Thrissur area; Thalayolaparambu and Vaikom in Kottayam; and Cherthala in Alappuzha region inside the Kochi metropolitan breaking points. The recently framed city would be put under the charge of another expert called Kochi Metropolitan Regional Development Authority.
