Nandi Hills

Nandi Hills are small mounds near Bengaluru, that serve as a popular tourist destination. It is an ancient Hill fortress located 10 kms from the Chickballapur town and about 60 kms from Bengaluru city. It is an ideal weekend getaway for those residing in Bangalore. It is also an ideal trekking destination for the adventure lovers.

The hills stand erect in the town of Nandi. These bills are the origin of the Arkavathy river. These small hillocks are a perfect tourist spot because of its natural beauty, pleasant climate throughout the year, picturesque location featuring misty mountains and beautiful sunrise.

On the top of the hill is the Yoganandeshwar temple which houses a statue of Nandi, the bull at its doorstep. This is how the hills got its name. There are many other stories behind the name too.
